Men's Strength: A Holistic Approach to Wellness

MenMen

As a man, you are always looking for ways to build your men's strength. Your body is your temple. Whether you are 20 or 50, you need to find ways to maintain optimal strength levels in order to be healthy and fit. You want to be able to go the distance in life. With a plan of action, you can boost your stamina and have greater endurance. It will take a combination approach and commitment to get the results that you want.

You Need to Build Muscle

In order to be stronger and be able to go the distance, you need to build up your muscles throughout your body. In order to do so, you will need to use a combination of strength training and cardiovascular training. Too many men fall into the trap of focusing on weight lifting alone without looking at the big picture. Instead of alternating days that are devoted to cardiovascular activity and strength exercises, use both in your daily workout. Not only will your muscles increase, you will also build endurance.

Cut Back on Down Time

You need to push yourself harder. That means cutting out the breaks. Do as many repetitions as you can in sets, taking only a short breather before switching to the next exercise. You want to make your body work hard to the point that you are really breaking a sweat. You should be breathing hard and your muscles should be screaming. That’s when you will know that you’ve pushed yourself to the limit.

Include Exercises that Target More than One Muscle Area

Don’t waste your time zoning in on one muscle group. Your strength and your overall endurance will improve when you use combination moves that put many muscles to work at once. For example, a pull-up will work all of the muscles in your arms and improves core strength as well.

Change it Up

You can’t do the same thing every day and expect optimal results. Do the same thing all the time and your muscles will fall into a set pattern. When you add variety and use different muscle groups each day, your strength will improve. You’ll find that it makes life much more interesting when you spice things up.

Eat Foods that Promote Strength

You need to pay attention to your diet. You should be eating plenty of lean proteins, healthy fats, and fresh produce. Watch your carbohydrates and include whole grains. Limit processed foods and foods that are high in sugar content. You’ll also need to stay hydrated, including fitness drinks that will replace electrolytes after a hard workout. You should eat foods that will increase your energy levels before and after a workout. When you are burning a great deal of calories, you need to recharge. You will need protein to build muscle.

Get Adequate Rest

While you are working hard to build your strength, you need to remember that rest is vital. Your body will need to recover from each strenuous session. Push to hard and you could regret it. Establish an ideal time when you can exercise each day and give yourself a break after it is over. Be sure to get a good night’s sleep in order to combat fatigue and be ready for all of your hard work in the next day.

Listen to Your Body

If you hurt yourself during your daily fitness routine, pay attention to what your body is trying to tell you. Pushing yourself through the pain can lead to a point when you do permanent damage or you will have a chronic injury. Allow yourself to heal and do alternate forms of exercise until you do.
